Concert promoter Chet Helms displays a vintage concert poster from the 1960's "Summer of Love"
May 20, 1997, in a San Francisco file photo. Helms, the revered father of the 1967 Summer of Love and a music promoter who launched the career of singer Janis Joplin, died Saturday at California Pacific Medical Center of complications from a stroke, his wife said. He was 62.
