Gary DeVeau
I was raised a Catholic, but never really knew much about the Lord. As a young adult, I could be best described as an agnostic. At age 27, in 1981, I accepted Jesus as my Savior and Lord. I came to know the Truth of the Gospel, through the persistent witness of an employee of mine. Following my conversion experience, I went through several years of discipleship. As the Lord has led, I have gone on to minister in several venues. I am the executive director of Isaiah 54 Ministries since 1996 which is a ministry of reconciliation, between man and God and between man and his fellow man through the Christian disciplines of Worship, Inner Healing and Spiritual Warfare. Isaiah 54 Ministries also serves as the umbrella for the many ministries I am affiliated with. For several years I worked at WLIX Christian Radio. During my tenure at WLIX Radio my positions included on air production, Account Executive and on air personality. Since the sale of WLIX I have worked to help unite and strengthen the Body of Christ by working in unity with many ministries and by promoting Christian media. In 2000, we started Long Island S.H.O.R.E.; which stands for "Long Island Spiritual History, Observation & Research Enterprise". This branch of the ministry focuses in on the teaching and practical applications of Spiritual Mapping. I have co-authored, with my wife Ellen and Eileen Koff, a study book entitled "Transformations - Ourselves & Our Communities" and the inner healing prayer workbook entitled "Steps To Inner Healing". During this time, I was appointed to spearhead the North Atlantic Corridor Project aspect of the Ancient Pathways Project for The Sentinel Group, home-based in Seattle, Washington. I became the administrator for The Sentinel Group's Spiritual Mapping Forum, a private message board for intercessors and researchers, working around the world. As many works of the Lord seem to have “seasons”, the SMAP Forum’s season ended in early 2008. I was a columnist and staff reporter for the Christian Life-Times Newspaper and have been a Christian concert and festival promoter for many years. I have hosted, and ministered in song at The Long Island Christian Music Festival, Praise Him Long Island, The Jones Beach/Forest Park Band Shell Concert Series, the Jesus Alive Concert Series, The Walk In Love For Jesus Celebration, and was prayer rally coordinator for The Global March For Jesus in Suffolk County for several years. I had served for many years as a worship leader, and currently our family attends Christ Church UMC, in Port Jefferson Station. I am presently working with WLIX FM on Long Island, since their start-up on Resurrection Sunday, 2007. I am part of the Afternoon Drive Team, producing and voicing the show, Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3p.m. to 6p.m. In addition, I host and produce a program called “Around Town with Gary DeVeau”, aired Tuesdays & Thursdays as well, from 1:30p.m. to 3p.m. This program showcases Long Island’s own Christian Recording Artists as well as some of my favorite selections, from the artists that started the whole Contemporary Christian Music genre’.
