Robert T. Sells was born and raised in Gary, Indiana. He began writing at the age of 11. His first poem was a special request for his mom entitled, "Love Is".
Robert is now a Christian author with a strong psalmist anointing on his life.
Robert's first book, Words of Inspiration: A Collection of Poems for the One You Love”, was selected as the WeAreFearless Online Book Club's "Pick of the Month for July 2007. His work has also been reviewed by RAWSISTAZ, Deltareviewer of Real Page Turners (which was recently featured in Pages in Black Magazine), SBS Book Club and Apex Reviews to name a few. Robert's work has been featured in Medium Magazine, and recently he has been performing every Saturday night on WYCA 102.3 FM's radio show, Kickem or Keepem, a show that features gospel artists. His Christian love poem "Empty" is currently featured on the newly-released CD, "Poetry Over Music Volume II: Different Shades of Love".
Robert released his second book of poetry, "Words of Inspiration: Speak Healing" was released on April 28, 2008! It is now available through Denovo Publishing as well as Barnes and Noble & Waldenbooks stores nationwide!
Robert has been sought after by many groups to create personal poems to be performed at their events, including poems for Civic Leaders, newly-married couples, gospel singers, pastors, and motivational speakers. Recently, he was asked to write a tribute poem to the wives and family saluting the lives of two United States military servicemen who served their country honorably. He is also makes a regular appearance on the "Flip Side to the Gospel Radio Show" on WCSU with host Birchman Gray.
Robert has been featured in interviews on a plethora of radio shows including RSL Radio Show with Arine Smith, FOCUSTALK with Dennis Snipe, A&E Radio Show with April Sims & Poetry Man, Global Influence Radio Show with Shanetria Peterson, and Authors First Radio Show with Tony Kay, with several more interviews scheduled. He has also had an exclusive interview on the cable network show, “What Shall We Read” with Tommie and Ametra Self. Robert has been invited to speak at several Women's conferences and has been a featured author on a panel discussion for Go' on Girl Book Club's 2007 National Conference.
In following with the assignment the Lord placed on his life, Robert is currently hard at work on the third book in the "Words of Inspiration" series, as well as a short story novel he is co-writing with his wife entitled “Not Denied”. Robert is almost completed work on his debut spoken word CD, "The Heart of a Man", due to be released by the end of May. The audio version of his first & second poetry books will be released in the fall of 2008 and a novel due to be released in 2009 entitled “Delayed Salvation”.
