Thank God I’m a hypocrite! –This Flyer is way, way… overdue. It’s been a hectic month, both for PelicanRadio.com and for me personally… but Thank God! All good! As you all know, I like to share a little nugget every month and this month… well, the title says it all… “Thank God I’m a hypocrite!” Why? I was talking to a co-worker last week, who is struggling with loneliness due to events in his life. Some co-workers and I were encouraging him to join a bowling league, a singles club, go somewhere to meet people that have his same interests, because he’s from out of town. He’s not the easiest guy to get along with, he’s one of those people that walks around with a dark cloud over his head… hmmm… WAIT! I’ve been there myself before… In order to encourage him, I shared with him that when I moved to Miami 24 years ago, I decided to go to Church, even though I had been away from the Church for 5 years… and there I found… so many good friends… His response to my story? “The Church? That’s a bunch of hypocrites! My answer? Yes… you are right… And Thank God, because I’m the biggest one of them, even though I didn’t tell him in a rough way… he seemed baffled by my answer… and quickly changed subjects. But it left me thinking… Yes, Jesus came to heal the broken, the sinner, not for the saints… but we ARE called to sainthood… As big a sinner as I am, am I praying, reading, sharing, acting and growing in my Faith? Am I moving forward in my life as a Christian? I may be a hypocrite, but I ask God for His grace to help us be a tiny reflection of Jesus to those around us… Amen!

I. FREE CONCERT: I want to share with you about an awesome concert being held on Tuesday, May 1st at 8PM at St. Catherine of Siena at 9200 SW 107th Avenue, Miami, Florida. The artists that will be singing will be Brazilian Catholic artist, Ziza Fernandez (who’s album Victoria you can hear at PelicanRadio.com) and special guest Kiki Troia. The concert is “Gratis”, but don’t let the fact that it is free make you think that these are not quality artists. I hope to see you there!
II. PelicanRadio.com is now independent!: Please come and visit our new stream, by going to our homepage http://www.pelicanradio.com. You no longer have to listen to Live365’s annoying commercials or subscribe to their service to listen to us. You can also use your favorite player (Windows Media Player, Winamp, Real Player or Itunes) to listen to us.
III. We now have two streams!: For the more technically minded listeners, you now have the choice of two different streams at 128kbs (higher fidelity) or 56kbs (for slower speed). Contact us at help@pelicanradio.com for details.
IV. MercyMe, Audio Adrenaline & Aaron Shust: We had the chance to share an amazing concert at UM assembly center with a few friends, who also happen to be PelicanRadio.com listeners. It was a time of praise, worship and inspiration for all of us. We’ll try to keep you posted on more concerts and activities coming up.
